Tom Barry won first place in the National Short Story Week Young Writers competition.  His story will appear in the NSSW Young Writer anthology, which will be on sale from November, with all proceeds going to War Child.

Boys in Years 6-8 all achieved gold and silver awards in the Junior Maths Challenge, with six going through to the Junior Maths Kangaroo in June.


Dylan Jamieson’s poem was selected from among 35,000 entries to appear in the Young Writer’s 2017 anthology Once Upon a Dream.

Henry Channon achieved a Championship Best Performance in the Oxfordshire Track & Field Championships for his record-breaking times in the U13's 800m and 1500m.



The whole school visited various colleges and museums around Oxford as part of College Day, including the Weston Library, Merton College, and the Tower of New College.

Well done to Lyndon C who won a silver medal at the Primary Maths Challenge.

Timon B and Ben T took part in the County U9 Chess Championships, and the team are now on their way to the mega-finals!


Boaz R performed in Bill Kenwright’s production of Evita at the New theatre, Oxford.


Ben T’s model of Shelley the Tortoise won him a Blue Peter badge.

The boys saw the first edition of Richard Hakluyt's Principal Navigations (1589) courtesy of the New College archives. 2016 marked the 400th anniversary of the great Tudor travel writer's death, whose younger brother, Edmund, was Master of New College School in the 1570's.
