Year 8 TED Talks
As part of their special subject, our Year 8 boys presented their year-long research in a series of ‘TED Talks’ at the end of Trinity.
This is part of NCS’s scheme to encourage the boys in their public speaking, and to hone their skills in speaking persuasively and effectively. As ever, the topics chosen this year were varied and intriguing, ranging from ‘How and why have penguins evolved?’ to ‘Why is there such a fascination with horror?’, ‘How does social media impact children?’ to ‘Has science always been a force for good and why?’. The boys’ research and presentation skills were way beyond their years, and it was heartening to see them showcasing the culmination of a year’s worth of work.
