Year 5 at Little Canada
After a leisurely drive down to Portsmouth, Year 5 enjoyed a few hours exploring the historic dockyards.
A great many treasures from Britain’s nautical past were on display for the boys to enjoy and obviously lunch and the gift shop were particular highlights. From there we hopped on the ferry to Ryde and then onto our home for the week, Little Canada. After settling in and making their beds, the boys enjoyed the first of many very hearty, carb-laden meals. With so much food on offer all week, the boys, and of course staff, were always fuelled and ready for action. During the week the boys enjoyed going up high, getting wet and muddy and testing their nerve and skill with the bow and arrow as well as many other fabulous activities. It was just magical to see how the boys supported one another and encouraged each other over the most tricky and terrifying obstacles. Climbing up a 20-metre vertical wall has its obvious challenges, but the peer support was amazing and meant even the most reluctant climber managed it. Each and every member of the wonderful Year 5 had an absolute ball. The fun and enjoyment were clear to see as were the teamwork and camaraderie. A super week to bring the school year to a close: well done, Year 5.
