'Pinocchio'
Year 3-5 spent Trinity preparing for a production of The Adventures of Pinocchio. This tale of a little wooden boy is a fable for all children everywhere about the value of kindness, compassion and the skill of learning from mistakes as he journeys from a circus, to the land of toys and into the belly of an enormous whale!
Year 3-5 made use of the new auditorium for this production, with use of a surround stage in the form of the raked seating design. With Year 5 taking the lead roles, Year 3 were the Blue Spirits that transform Pinocchio from a humble piece of pine, and Year 4 took on the task of recreating the enormous whale that swallows Geppetto, Grillo and Pinocchio! The classes worked impeccably, building on their teamwork and listening skills to create magnificent visual effects.
All boys learnt six songs, which were performed with panache and excellent vocal skills. This, along with excellent quality acting and dancing created an outstanding adaptation of a fairytale classic by the nineteenth-century Italian author, Carlo Collodi.
