Combe Mill
Year 7 went to the River Evenlode at Combe Mill to learn about measuring features of a meander and the wider catchment of the drainage basin. The boys got hands-on experience of using equipment and recording data. They enjoyed a lovely walk through the flood meadows and woodland around the river, learning about its ice-age past and changing landscape. A highlight of the day was releasing two crayfish back into the river and catching tadpoles and pond skaters from a large natural pond.
