Bletchley Park
Years 5 & 6 arrived at Bletchley Park on a cold and frosty Wednesday morning.
They were greeted by their guides and split into their year groups. Year 6 ventured on their tour of the park first and Harold, our volunteer guide, instantly put the boys at ease by assigning them roles that would have originally been stationed at Bletchley Park. One commanding officer, four bag searches and a brief interrogation later and our group was ready for their first code breaking exercise. Following the immersive tour, the boys had time to tour the different buildings and huts used throughout World War Two. After lunch, they ventured into a break-out room to participate in a code breaking workshop where they learned about four different codes that they had to crack. They even got to programme an original Enigma Machine! Overall, the Bletchley visit was an incredible experience that the boys will remember for years to come.
