Year 6 were excited to welcome Dr Katrina Pollock just before the end of term.
This year’s Hilary concert was particularly special.
Year 3 visited the Ancient Middle East gallery to consolidate their learning on the great civilisation of Ancient Sumer.
The formal grand opening of the new building in September was a wonderful event. Hundreds of people came to enjoy the morning, representing past and present families, colleagues, governors, friends and supporters.
In November all the boys in Years 7 and 8 put on two excellent performances of Shakespeare’s Henry V.
The Drama Club presented its first production, Toad of Toad Hall, in February: a story told through the eyes of the ‘Wild Wooders’.
On Thursday 6 October, NCS pupils took a train to London. Their first port of call was the Wallace Collection, where, guided through the exhibits by Mr Neal, the boys spent an hour soaking in the rich artistic treasures of the Italian Renaissance and French Baroque.
This year saw a new addition to the NCS ritual year: our very first ‘Spring Service’.
This year’s Holloway Lecture, the centrepiece of our SHTEAM Festival and one of our partnership events, was given by the economist, journalist and broadcaster Tim Harford.
This year’s ‘reading in interesting places’ competition once again achieved its aim of generating a wide range of very interesting entries.
