Wykeham Day and Summer Fete
Some beautiful musical performances by former and current NCS boys marked the start of Wykeham Day 2019.
It was wonderful to see their talents soclearly continuing to ourish, and this year we were very happy to welcome back former NCS Director of Music, Roger Allen, who accompanied performers from an assortment of NCS generations.
A lucky break in the weather made for glorious sunshine on Field for the cricket. Teams made up of former and current NCS boys, siblings, parents, and sta played a hugely enjoyable cricket tournament throughout the day, with the summer fete buzzing around them. The boys engineered some very inventive fete stalls, from a coconut shy and apple bobbing, to welly wanging, and, of course, the ever-popular gunge tank (CB was this year’s victim!). Many thanks to the Parents’ Association for all their efforts in bringing together such an enjoyable event.
The day concluded with Evensong in chapel and the Old Boys’ Dinner in Hall, to which current and former parents were also invited.
