British Science Week
The boys at NCS love celebrating all things scientific so we weren’t going to miss out on British Science Week, even if current Covid-19 restrictions limited what we could do. Some of the boys in 8S acted as science ambassadors and ran an explosive demonstration for Years 1 and 2 in the playground. They added mentos to a bottle of fizzy drink which caused great excitement as a huge jet of liquid came out of the bottle! Reception had a visit from Artie the leopard gecko and learnt about his adaptations. The older boys enjoyed a range of activities in lessons including making slime and making keyrings with beads that change colour in UV light. They were also treated to some spectacular demonstrations in the lab including a whoosh bottle, and burning bubbles of methane on hands (only on the teacher’s hands!).
