Incredible Eggs
Once again this year, the Science lab welcomed delivery of a clutch of eggs from Incredible Eggs, who provide ethical hatching kits for schools. This year we had chicken eggs and because the farms the eggs come from aim to preserve heritage and rare breeds; the eggs were from a variety of types of chicken. Within a few days we were the proud temporary owners of four dark grey chicks called Bluebells, and three yellow chicks called Buff Hybrids. The boys had great fun naming them: Albert Eggstein and Eggbert were popular choices! Over the next ten days the boys enjoyed handling them and linking their visit to topics such as classification, adaptations and life cycles.
