Virtual Recitals
This year’s Junior and Senior Recitals successfully took place in a virtual form.
From living rooms across Oxfordshire, boys logged into our evening Zoom calls in their finest uniform ready to perform everything, from tradition tunes and Mozart Sonatas; to Duke Ellington and Van Halen classics. During remote learning, these concerts were an amalgamation of eight weeks of online tuition and completely independent practising. Despite the muted applause between pieces, the sense of community that could be felt during these recitals was profound. We are extremely fortunate that high quality music making has been able to not just continue over this year, but thrive. For this, thanks must go to our inspirational Visiting Music Teachers for their support and encouragement of the boys over this year, as well as to parents and siblings for supporting the hours of practice that led to so many successful performances. We are thoroughly looking forward to welcoming the boys back to in-person concerts as soon as possible. Nonetheless, the supportive atmosphere of our remote recitals has highlighted the community of musicians are always welcome here at NCS.
