School Council 2021-22
The NCS school council had many productive meetings this year with school council reps convening every half term to discuss ideas for developments their tutor groups would like to see.
Discussions tended to revolve around the school menu, playground ideas and suggestions for activities. We were delighted to see several ideas come to fruition. The tuck shop returned after a hiatus due to Covid. It has been successfully run by Year 8 pupils over the course of the year. The ever-popular chicken burgers (in brioche buns no less) remain on the lunch menu and new vegetarian sausage rolls have proved extremely popular, much to the delight of many of the boys who are keen to reduce our environmental impact by having a meat- free day once a week. The boys were delighted to see some of their suggestions for after-school clubs being introduced this year, for example a cycling proficiency course and the purchase of Dungeons and Dragons for board games club. The boys also enjoyed teaming up with the charity committee in Michaelmas and Hilary to help support the school’s chosen charities.
